Dear Valued Customer,
We are writing to inform you of an incident that occurred at 530 Collins Street this morning, the location of our Melbourne Data Centre, (MDC).
The building was impacted by a flooding event which saw several floors inundated by water. This resulted in the evacuation of the building, with building management performing an emergency power isolation.
Despite this significant incident, we are pleased to inform you that due to the diversity built into our facility, there has been no impact to our data centre, equipment or our customer services.
We take the protection of our customer’s equipment and services seriously and have taken all necessary precautions to ensure that services remain unaffected by the incident. Our team responded quickly to the situation mitigating any further risk.
The building is still impacted, with Levels 11 to 38 without power while electrical contractors assess the site and ensure that they are safe. As a result, we would request that our customers limit their access to our MDC Data Centre unless necessary or urgent until further notice. Our MDC Team continue to collaborate with building management to assess the situation and ensure the safety and security of our facility.
We understand the criticality of services to your business operations and would like to reassure you the Melbourne Data Centre is operating normally, and our services remain uninterrupted.
We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. For any emergency access request, please do not hesitate to contact our Data Centre Support Team on 03 9616 1300, who will be happy to assist you in case of any emergency access request.
Sincerely,
